We're Kuria Co. — kuria (クリア) means "clear" in Japanese, and that's exactly what we do.
Living in Japan, we saw how often great ideas got lost because the English just didn't land —
not from lack of effort, but because writing naturally in another language is genuinely hard.
So three friends decided to help.
✏️ I have had the privilege of getting to know both Takuji and Donghyeon over the past 8 and 3 years, respectively.
One thing I admired about them both was their dedication to the English language and their abilities to communicate.
Years after meeting them, I moved to Okinawa, Japan for work and got to visit both Takuji and Donghyeon in their hometowns.
During my travels I read signs or menus that an English speaker would not understand, despite the words being written in English.
After these trips, I had the realization that we could work together to help other Japanese and Korean people write in clear (Kuria) English.
With this company, we are working to do just that!
